The purpose of the Diaconia Commission is that of raising an awareness in the Catholic community on the responsibility which it has towards those in need, and to help them participate and work with this Commission.
When the need is felt, there should be established at a pastoral level, new voluntary services for aiding persons in need.
The Commission meets regularly to discuss and consider the needs and requests for assistance made from time to time by the Parish priest and members of the Commission.
Diaconia means concrete commitment for the service of others. It also means that we share our lives with those in need, rather than working for them. We should be prepared to work hand in hand with them.
